Bola Ahmed Tinubu has finally taken the bull by its horns. He has declared his ambition for the presidency. He has always been seen as one of the ambitious politicians in Nigeria.
But one question that bothers one’s mind is if the president would give his support to Bola Tinubu. President Muhammadu Buhari has exclusive rights to decide on whom to back for the presidency.
The former Lagos State governor didn’t declare his ambition until he has discussed with Buhari. Does that mean Buhari will need to back the national leader of the APC?
When Buhari was granting interview to the Channels Television, he said that he wouldn’t mention his preferred candidate to avoid possible elimination of the person. Could it be Tinubu?
Mr. Tinubu worked for the victory of Buhari in the last two presidential elections. He fought for the interest of the APC and Buhari. Then, one must expect Buhari to pay Tinubu back in 2023.
Recall that Mr. Yemi Osinbajo is also seen as a possible candidate of the All Progressives Congress. He has been working with Buhari since 2014 when the APC nominated them to run against Goodluck Jonathan.
Even the same former president, Jonathan, is being considered to return to power. He has been visiting the Presidential Villa constantly these days. And suspicion has been raised.
The former Lagos State governor must have done well by consulting the president. He has informed the main head of the APC, Buhari. But will the president give his endorsement to Bola Tinubu?
