Wike under Fire as Bandits Kill One of Six Sisters Kidnapped in Abuja
The Federal Capital Territory minister Nyesom Wike has come under serious criticism and fire as bandits kill one of the victims they kidnapped in the capital territory, Abuja.
Social media users, most especially on X (formerly known as Twitter) have slammed the former Rivers State Governor for not doing enough to secure the FCT and its residents. Insecurity is on the high in the area and there have been alarms that persons with suspicious movements are lurking there.
On January 9, Najeebah and her sisters were kidnapped along with their father in Abuja. The bandits demanded a sum of N60m as ransom to release the victims.
Their father, who was also a victim, was asked to go and find the money with Friday, 12 January as the ultimatum.
Yesterday, the oldest of the sisters was killed and her dead body was dumped somewhere for her family to see. This has enraged Nigerians.
While insecurity is rising in Abuja and with the present issue, Nyesom Wike is supposed to be working round the clock to find a lasting solution and put mechanisms in place to stop the rising insecurity.
Rather, he’s busy with the matters in Rivers State in order to continue to dominate and dictate what happens in the state. Simi Fubara, the incumbent governor is the main headache he has instead of working for Tinubu’s and his own success in the Federal Capital Territory.
