Why is Labour Party seriously pulling Peter Obi down?

That’s the poser to the second largest opposition party in the country. Why is it working so seriously to pull its presidential candidate down? The party has become the main headaches of the former Anambra State governor.

Peter Obi is pursuing the seat of the president at the Supreme Court, but rather than providing the needed support for him, the Labour Party is dismissing and antagonizing the candidate. Despite the fact that the People’s Democratic Party is divided along some lines, the party’s hierarchy doesn’t part ways with Atiku Abubakar.

The publicity secretary of the Labour Party has announced the decision to suspend the former Anambra State governor from the party if he fails to disclose his credentials and qualifications and show them to Nigerians.

The party also said that the ex governor doesn’t have what it takes to lead the country as Peter Obi failed mathematics and English Language in his West African Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination.

The national publicity secretary Arabambi, who was talking on behalf of the party, said that the party would continue to fight the Labour Party presidential till he is dismissed from the party.

It’s true that the political party is factionalized. There is Julius Abure-led faction and another one led by one Apapa. The two sides ceaselessly lay claim to the party structure. But the internal wrangling ought not to affect the presidential candidate.

In their enmity, in their struggle for the authority of the party, there should be a point where both sides agree. Why is the Labour Party frustrating Peter Obi?
