What Tinubu demands from Sultan of Sokoto
Tinubu has met with the Sultan of Sokoto His Eminence Mohammed Sa’ad Abubakar in the palace. The ambitious politician from Lagos led his team to the seat of Sokoto caliphate to seek endorsement of the top monarch.
Only few days ago, Tinubu’s main opponent, Atiku Abubakar was also in Sokoto State and he had a talk with the highly influential traditional ruler.
The APC candidate Tinubu demands royal blessing and endorsement from the monarch who also hosted the president, Muhammadu Buhari. The president has been going out to the campaign rallies with the ex Lagos state governor, who also stood up for Buhari in 2015 and 2019.
The Sultan of Sokoto didn’t give his words to the candidate, but he warmly welcomed the team to his palace.
Boastful Tinubu said he came for the endorsement and blessing of the monarch and that the king wouldn’t deny him.
He said, “We want to win election. And since that’s what we came for, we seek your blessing and endorsement. It’s something you can’t reject.”
