We’re Yet to Receive Request for Tinubu’s Jet – Akpabio
The Senate President Godswill Akpabio has said that the Senate under his leadership is yet to receive a request or correspondence from the executive to purchase a brand new jet for the office of the president.
There have been speculations that the Senate wants to approve another huge amount of money for the procurement of a jet for President Bola Tinubu. But the Senate President refuted the claim. It’s not unusual for the National Assembly to deny something only to still discuss it later.
Akpabio said, “I have never had that correspondence to approve the purchase of a plane. We care about the President, we care about Nigerians. We will approve things that will benefit the people.”
“There is nothing before us. But the purveyors of the story know that there is a problem with the presidential fleet.”
Likewise, the leader of the Senate, Mr Michael Opeyemi Bamidele denied the report calling it fake and propaganda.
The Senator from Ekiti State said, “There is no such request, if the request comes, not only the Senate will debate it, we are 469 here. So this is the handiwork of fifth columnist and propagandists”
