US warns North Korea against nuclear weapons

US warns North Korea against using Nuclear Weapons

The United States of America has sternly warned North Korea against its nuclear weapon programme. Pyongyang has claimed that it’s programmes on nuclear weapon are for protection and to serve as deterrent to the United States (US) and its allies.

North Korea is under several sanctions as it pursues having nuclear weapons. The United Nations, the United States (US) and European Union have put heavy sanctions on the secluded country along with most of its leaders.

Washington warned that any nuclear attack on itself or its allies is unacceptable and that it will result in the end of Kim Jong-un regime. Both North and South Korea have been at armistice after the 1950-1953 Korean war.

Impoverished North Korea has persistently threatened to attack south, which the United States protects.

A joint statement of the United States and South Korea on Saturday says, “The US side reiterated that any nuclear attack by the DPRK against the ROK will be met with a swift, overwhelming, and decisive response.”

Kim Jong-un has led his country to develop a wide range of missiles that can reach both Japan and South Korea and, of course, the United States.
