University of Ibadan proves Obi’s main domain
The Labour Party candidate, Mr. Peter Obi has proven that he’s popular among youths and students: the University of Ibadan has proven this right.
The Ivory tower in Oyo State has one polling unit and the students massively voted for the candidate of the Labour Party. University of Ibadan students shunned some other basic factors that determine who wins the election.
Peter Obi has said that Nigerian voters are his structure. He said he wouldn’t pay anyone to vote him. The students who are mostly Yoruba snubbed Bola Tinubu and Omoyele Sowore to opt for Peter Obi.
At the Polling unit 029, ward 11, Queens Hall, University of Ibadan, the Labour Party candidate polled 342 votes. It’s one of the biggest results for the candidate in the southwest region.
Bola Tinubu scored 52 votes to come second in the polling unit while the candidate of the PDP Atiku Abubakar polled 14 votes.
Lots of youths and students across all tertiary institutions have embraced Peter Obi. They consider him as the option to salvage the country and stop the bad governance that pervades the country.
The youths and students have vowed to break the political hegemony of godfathers and stop the system of “structured parties”. Hence, the results from the University of Ibadan shouldn’t be surprising as the reflect Obi’s main domain.
One wouldn’t have expected less from the students, most of whom spent several months running to a year at home. They have suffered a lot from the current government of the All Progressives Congress.
They are still hurt by the Endsars massacre in Lekki, Lagos. They know the incident was as a result of bad governance and poor human rights policy in the country.
The University of Ibadan students, or voters, have proven a point. They have clearly said that they would stand up for what they believe.
