Ukrainian Army Takes Battle to Putin Right in Russia, Zelenskiy Confirms
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy has confirmed that his army has succeeded in taking the battle to Russia right on the Russian soil. It would be the first time Ukraine would have such an incursion to bravely fight its neighbour, Russia.
Battle between the two former USSR members started in February, 2022 and Moscow would have achieved its set goals but for the assistance that Kyiv enjoys from Western countries.
Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova has said in a statement: “The Kyiv regime is continuing its terrorist activity with the sole purpose of intimidating the peaceful population of Russia.”
She adds that Ukraine “understands perfectly well” that the recent attacks “make no sense from a military point of view”.
The Ukrainian President was quoted by CNN as saying: “Ukraine is proving that it really knows how to restore justice and guarantees exactly the kind of pressure that is needed – pressure on the aggressor.”
He also thanked “every unit” of Ukraine’s armed forces for making it possible “to push the war out into the aggressor’s territory.”
