Top Chieftain Dumps PDP for APC
A top chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party has dumped the opposition party for the All Progressives Congress (APC). The latest defection to hit the opposition party is in Edo State, which elects Godwin Obaseki’s successor in few months’ time.
A member of the Board of Trustees of the PDP, Charles Idahosa joined the APC as the PDP is battling internal crises arising from impeachment of Philip Shaibu, the deputy governor and the primary election to choose the flag bearer of the party for the gubernatorial election.
When Mr. Obaseki was facing hurdles in 2021 in the APC, Mr. Idahosa was ready to join the PDP with the governor. Now, the board of trustees member has returned to the party he dumped three years ago.
Online Parrot News reported that the PDP continues to suffer from defection from across the country. The party has lost key members in Enugu, Osun, Rivers, Oyo, and in far northern part of the country.
