Tinubu’s certificate: Chicago University locks social media account The story around Bola Tinubu’s certificate is far from being over. The Chicago State University, USA, has been forced to lock its account on X, formerly known as Twitter. The decision comes on the heels of its affirmation of Bola Tinubu’s certificate.
The presidential candidate of the People’s Democratic Party, Alhaji Abubakar Atiku has asked the university to confirm if the incumbent president truly attended and graduated from the school.
The university said that Bola Tinubu was a student of the institution from 1977 to 1979. The registrar of the university, Lois David made this known in a letter dated 20 August, 1999. His major was accounting”.
The registrar while confirming Tinubu’s certificate in the letter said, “Please, be advised that Bola A. Tinubu did indeed attend Chicago State University from August, 1977 through June, 1979. He was awarded a bachelor of science in Business and Administration with Honours on June 22, 1979.
The academic qualifications of the president are part of the argument that both Peter Obi of the Labour Party and Atiku of the PDP have presented to the court. But the issue has continued to attract attentions of followers an enthusiasts of the other two men on the social media.
They have made the university to lock its comment section over the Tinubu’s certificate issue. The section has become private and only the verified users can comment.
