Tinubu Suspends Buhari’s Legacy Indefinitely
President Bola Tinubu has indefinitely suspended one of the key legacies of former President Muhammadu Buhari. Towards the end of the administration of Buhari, he hurriedly unveiled the Air Nigeria, a carrier of the country.
But months after the former president did the opening with pomp and pageantry, the aircraft remains in the paper in black and white. It’s yet to materialize.
On Monday, the current administration of Tinubu announced it would suspend the project indefinitely. Nigerians have called the project a scam ab initio.
Mr. Festus Keyamo, the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace, revealed the decision of the government at the briefing to mark the first anniversary of Tinubu’s administration.
Buhari’s Minister of Aviation Hadi Sirika along with his daughter is facing prosecution. The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has dragged him to court over mismanagement of funds.
