Tinubu Has Spent 365 Days To Study Buhari’s Failure – Bode George

A former chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Chief Bode George has explained that incumbent President Bola Tinubu has used his first 365 days to study the failure of his predecessor, Muhammadu Buhari.

Bode George, who fought rigorously to stop Tinubu from becoming the president of the country and who also swore to leave Nigeria if the former Lagos State Governor won the poll, said that Buhari’s tenure was full of failures.

George, a loyalist of Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, was on Arise Television on Friday when he made the comment. He said that the fact that Tinubu lacked presidential experience means Nigerians should give him one year to study things including Buhari’s failure.

He said, “He (Tinubu) had never served at that level (presidency). Well… you will say he was part of the party (APC) that formed the government (of Muhammadu Buhari), but it’s a hell of a different thing taking over and now leading the team.

“To be fair to my conscience, he has had that one-year holiday of trying to study the failures of the past administration. I have given him that one year of grace because now he has seen it and lived there.”

He cited Obasanjo as a case study explaining that the former president used his first year to figure things out. Therefore, Nigerians should give Tinubu some time.

Bode George added, “I expect his ministers to have come back in one year with those areas of lapses. Even when Baba (Olusegun Obasanjo) became president in 1999, he was still trying to figure out what happened there or vice versa in his first year. Let’s give him more time.”
