Tinubu Is Handling Protests Poorly Like Kenya’s Ruto – Adeyanju

One of the lawyers working for the protesters, Mr. Adeyanju Deji has claimed that the Nigerian President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu is doing exactly like his colleague in Kenya, Mr. William Samoei Ruto.

Ruto is still grappling with pockets of protests in the East African country. The tax bill which he introduced to the parliament forced the people to massively protest. The nationwide demonstration turned violent leading to the death of dozens of people.

He unleashed the military on the people only to exacerbate the issue to the extent that the Kenyan protesters torched the parliament. He did eventually withdraw the bill, yet the people called for his resignation.

Adeyanju said that the statement Bola Tinubu made was similar to the ones Ruto made when the protest started.

“I’m not surprised at all, Ruto also issued 2 similar statements like Tinubu before he finally saw the power of the people and he reversed the tax bill. President Tinubu must meet the demands of protesters.”

The lawyer said that the hunger in the country must stop, fuel subsidy must return and fuel should be less than N200.

“He must halt the hunger in the country. Return fuel subsidy. Nigeria is already paying fuel subsidy of N1trillion monthly by Tinubu. What we are all saying is Tinubu should stop this N1trillion fraud and return us to the N300billion monthly subsidy of last year before he took over when fuel was N167 per litre. Is that too much to ask?” #EndBadGovernance
