Tinubu & Atiku accuse each other of corruption

Tinubu and Atiku have accused each other of corruption and corrupt practices as Nigerians still weigh their options for the 2023 presidential election. Bola Tinubu is representing the All Progressives Congress while Atiku Abubakar is on the platform of the People’s Democratic Party.

Earlier Mr. Festus Keyamo, the spokesperson for the Presidential Campaign Council of the APC had charged the anti-graft agencies including the ICPC and EFCC to as a matter of necessity arrest or invite Atiku Abubakar to answer questions bordering on corruption.

An aide to Atiku had blown the whistle of the ex vice president. The aide revealed how Atiku laundered money while holding sway as the number 2 citizen of the country. Atiku has denied wrongdoings.

Specifically, Mr. Keyamo gave the anti corruption agencies 72 hours to arrest Atiku Abubakar of the PDP. The opposition party has replied through Mr. Kola Ologbondiyan, the spokesperson of Atiku’s campaign.

Through the spokesperson, the PDP argued that Bola Tinubu has suspecting that “his many alleged corrupt activities, especially his fleecing of Lagos State with many Special Purpose Vehicle companies was about to come to light, rushed to allegedly hire a serial blackmailer, as he has always done, to foul the public space with fabricated allegations against Atiku Abubakar.”

The spokesperson said Tinubu is merely crying foul. The PDP also talked about how Tinubu reportedly awarded tax collection exclusively to his company, Alpha Beta and the allegations of SPV to launder up to one hundred billion naira. Mr. Tinubu has consistently denied any corrupt practice.

Ologbondiyan said, “We also challenge Asiwaju Tinubu to explain to Nigerians how, as Lagos State governor, he awarded the exclusive right of tax collection in Lagos State to his alleged proxy company, Alpha Beta, as well as the allegations that the SPV was used to allegedly siphon over N100bn belonging to Lagos State”.

“if anyone is to be arrested and disqualified from the presidential race on account of corruption, certainly, that person is not Atiku Abubakar but Bola Tinubu.”

While Tinubu, Atiku accuse each other of corruption, Mr. Peter Obi, their main challenger is working on his bid.
