The organiser of the ongoing African Cup of Nation has come up with the team of the week. After twelve matches, the list has been released.

The Nigerian midfielders really attacked the Pharaohs of Egypt. But none of them has been included. M. Cassama, G. Sangare and Cape Verde winger Rochas Santos.
One would have expected Nigerian goal scorer kelechi Iheanacho to make the list. But Riyad Mahrez was included despite his side held to a draw by Sierra Leone.
Likewise, Cameroonian captain V. Aboubakar and Moroccan S. Boufai completed the list of the first eleven for the week one of the 33rd AFCON in Cameroon.
