Sunday Igboho makes demand while he is still behind bars in Benin Republic. The Beninese security personnel arrested and detained him in July, 2021.
He was on his way to Germany en route Benin. He has been a target of the Nigerian government for his involvement in subversion.
The self-styled activist had called for creation of Yoruba nation. The call came shortly after his tango with the Fulani herdsmen in the southwest zone.
The personnel of the Department of State Service stormed his house in early July. He was able to escape to Benin Republic, and he intended to fly to Germany from there. Unfortunately, the security agencies caught him.
More than half a year without justice, Mr. Sunday Igboho has demanded that his prison should be change. His health is already deteriorating and falling. So, he has appealed to the Beninese Government.
His counsel, Chief Yomi Aliyyu, told pressmen that Sunday Igboho has not left for Germany. He argued that the news about his departure should be disregarded.
He said, “Kindly discountenance any news about the release of Chief Sunday Adeyemo or that he is on his way to Germany. It is not true, please.”
The legal luminary reveals that Sunday Igboho makes demand to get a comfortable prison. Igboho has been complaining about his frail health.
The counsel said, “With the assistance of a worldwide renowned professor and prof Akintoye and lawyers (Falola and myself), we are negotiating for something more comfortable for him than prison to meet his health demand.”
