Stop Being Dictatorship, Fight Terrorists, Not Civil Nigerians, Atiku Tackles Tinubu
A former vice president Alhaji Abubakar Atiku has slammed President Bola Tinubu over what he called assault on civil society and the media. The former number two citizen of the country said that he was disturbed about the development.
His comment was coming as the administration of President Bola Tinubu cracks down on dissidents including the leadership of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC).
Atiku wrote, “The recent arrest of Mr. Joe Ajaero, President of the Nigerian Labour Congress, en route to an official event, epitomizes this regime’s relentless campaign to intimidate and subdue organized labour.”
The former vice president who contested against Tinubu in the last general elections recalled how the administration erroneously arrested and detained a popular journalist.
The PDP’s presidential candidate then asked the president to channel his energy to curb the real perpetrators of violence.
He said, “It is imperative that Tinubu and his security apparatus redirect their fervour and intimidation towards the true perpetrators of violence — terrorists and bandits — who are inflicting immeasurable suffering upon the Nigerian people.”
