Simon Ekpa Would be Extradited to Nigeria after His Arrest in Finland – Defence Headquarters
The Defence Headquarters has said that it would work towards extraditing Mr. Simon Ekpa from Finland to Nigeria so he can face trial. Mr. Ekpa, a member of the proscribed Indigenous Peoples of Biafra (IPOB) has declared himself as Prime Minister of the proposed Biafra Republic.
From thousands of kilometers away in Finland, Ekpa always gives order to the IPOB members in the southeastern part of Nigeria to unleash terrors on the civilians, who refuse to obey the sit-at-home oders and security personnel.
He has also condemned the approach of the incarcerated leader of IPOB Nnamdi Kanu saying that he himself is the leader of the group and Biafra itself.
Nigeria wants to try him for terrorism, sedition among others. The Director of information in the Defence Headquarters, Brigadier General Tukur Gusau released a statement on Thursday.
He said that the defence was pleased with the arrest of Ekpa. The Finnish authorities have arrested and remanded him in prison till his extradition trial.
Gusau wrote: “CDS is happy with his arrest in Finland, with the hope this will be a step towards his extradition to Nigeria so that he will face justice.”
