Serie A top scorer: Lookman Pursues Osimhen
Atalanta and Nigerian forward Ademola Lookman is currently pursuing his compatriot Victor Osimhen as the Serie A top scorer for the current season.
The two fantastic Nigerian players sit on top of the Serie A top scorer log for the season having jointly scored twenty four goals. Ademola Lookman is enjoying his stay in the Italian Serie A in which he has scored 11 goals in 18 matches.
Ademola Lookman is behind Victor Osimhen, who plays for the league leaders Napoli. The Nigerian striker has scored 13 goals for Napoli in 18 games as well. The Napoli striker is the top scorer as the season stands now.
But the Atalanta star is determined to overtaking his compatriot in the struggle for the golden boot of the Italian Serie A. The former Everton player said he is confident of leading the chart this season by beating his Nigerian teammate.
The Punch Newspaper quoting The Athletic said that Lookman was asked of his chances of beating Victor Osimhen to the boot. Lookman replied, “No, not when he’s above you, anyway” with some laughter.
He later confidently added, “I will catch him (Osimhen). Not I might, I will.”
