The coronavirus disease may continue to hamper the progress of the elite football competition, the English Premier League. Two more coaches have tested positive for the disease.
Some premier league matches have been postponed and more may be put off as coaches and players are testing positive.
Despite the rapid vaccination in England for the players and coaching crew, coronavirus is still finding its way into top squads. The Aston Villa head coach, Steven Gerald was unable to lead his team to the crucial match against Chelsea.
The former Liverpool and England captain is down with the disease although he is merely in isolation. He joined Aston Villa at the middle of the current regime of the premier league.
And since his assumption of duty, he has elevated the team. He is now coronavirus positive.
Mikel Arteta, Arsenal’s coach is the latest coach to test positive for the disease in the English Premier League. He led his side to flog both Sunderland in the Carabao cup and Norwich in the premier league.
The next match of the London team has been postponed due to the further risk of COVID-19 spread in the team.
