Russia warns Sweden, Finland as the conflict with Ukraine continues to drag on. Russian forces entered Ukraine through south, north and east to invade the neighbors.
Russia has now sent a stern warning to Sweden and Finland to not consider joining the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO). The belligerent Russia talked tough.
The foreign ministry spokesperson, Maria Zakharova sent the warning in a video clip. The ministry later posted the video on its verified Twitter page.
The spokesperson said, “Finland and Sweden should not base their security on damaging the security of other countries.
“And their accession to NATO can have detrimental consequences and face some military and political consequences”.
Russia believed that the security of the defunct USSR would be at stake if its neighbors including Sweden and Finland join NATO.
Ukraine has made some ascension to join the intergovernmental organizations. NATO would help to wade off the security threats from Russia.
Moscow has stated that it wouldn’t tolerate the presence of NATO within its premises. Finland and Sweden have provided some humanitarian assistance to Ukraine in the hard time.
Russia sent its forces on a “special military operation” in Ukraine. The forces have launched several cruise missiles and are gradually entering the Ukrainian capital Kyiv.
Meanwhile, Ukraine has agreed to discuss a different status with NATO.
Ukraine had shown some adamance to stepping down in the quest. NATO has provided little assistance to Ukraine.
And as the two sides agree to negotiate, Russia warns Sweden, Finland to desist from joining the military alliance of NATO.
The United States has received several calls from across the country to act. But the American government doesn’t have specific interest in Ukraine.
Ukrainian president Zelensky has said his country would defend itself. Meanwhile, it is very clear that Ukraine couldn’t withstand Russia.
