The Nigeria National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) has insisted that the Port Harcourt refinery is functioning and that trucks are still loading products from there. The corporation has been accused of deceiving Nigerians by announcing that the moribund refinery has been resurrected.
The NNPCL also debunked reports from some quarters excluding Online Parrot News that the refinery has shut down (again).
In a statement released on Saturday, the company asked the people of the country to shun the reports because “such reports are totally false as the refinery is fully operational”.
In the same statement signed by Olufemi Soneye, the spokesperson for the company, a former Group Managing Director of the company paid a visit to the refinery and confirmed it’s functioning.
