Please, Stop Posting about the Protests – Chief of Defence Staff Musa
The Chief of Defence Staff General Christopher Musa has appealed to the media organizations including Online Parrot News to immediately stop posting and reporting the nationwide protests which have halted activities in the northern region of the country.
The general had earlier threatened the protesters saying that he would not fold his hands while lawlessness took over the country. He said he would order mobilisation of forces to crack down on the protesters if they go violent to the extent of attacking government and private businesses.
Also on Friday, while addressing pressmen, the Kaduna-born military head begged the media organisations to desist from giving coverages to the protests.
“For the media, I want to appeal — I noticed yesterday all the stations are hooked up to the occasion. This is not an election. Don’t give them that coverage,” Musa said.
He added that some of the protesters just want to appear on the screen and become popular.
“Some of them (protesters) are looking for moments to be on the screen. Together, I can assure you we are going to win,” he added.
