PDP clears Osun State House of Assembly Election
The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has won twenty-five (25) out of the 26 (twenty six) seats at the Osun State House of Assembly (OSHA). There was no gubernatorial election in the state.
Mr. Ademola Adeleke, the incumbent governor, beat his predecessor Adegboyega Oyetola in the 2022 governorship election in the state. The matter is still in court though.
The people of the state trooped out yesterday to elect their lawmakers who will surely work with Mr. Ademola Adeleke, if he eventually wins at the court. The PDP has been enjoying the support of the people so far in the 2023 general elections.
The political party cleared all the three senatorial districts seats and all the nine seats in the House of Representatives last month in the general elections. The PDP is now more popular in Osun State.
The party won Ayedaade and Irewole-Isokan state constituencies. The PDP also got victory at Ifelodun, Ifedayo, Irepodun/Orolu, Odo Otin, Olorunda, Osogbo.
The political party also recorded success in Atakumosa East and West, Ife Central, Ife East, Ife North and South, Ilesa East and West, Obokun, Oriade, Ede north and south, Egbedore, Iwo, Ejigbo and OlaOluwa.
The Independent National Electoral Commission has declared the Boluwaduro/Boripe state constituency election inconclusive.
