Periodic election is one of the key features of democracy which avails the electorates the opportunity to choose their preferred leaders hence, allow them to show any incumbent leaders that perform less than expectation the exit. The next year gubernatorial election in Osun State is an example of such a period call it ”Osun 2026″ during which we will exercise our franchise to choose who the cap fits.
Political parties remained the most perfect platforms for the contenders to express their various interest in vying for the vacant post therefore, political parties play major roles in periodic elections. The flag bearer among the contenders in a political party determines the outlook of such a party in any outing during electioneering.
Considering the political trajectories of Osun State, the progressives need a personality that will see governance as a clarion call, a way to connect and reconcile us, a person that will see his spendings over time as a charity and not as a business. The person the oppositions have nothing to castigate with his political prowess and antecedents
People like these abound among the contenders but one of them is outstanding. The person in question is no other person than Dotun Babayemi, the prince of peace. The man whose experience, exposure, credibility, antecedent, political and administrative know-how still remain unbeatable.
To corroborate my submission, ODB has been perpetually impacting people’s live positively for years. He single handedly financed many aspirants and has contested for a senatorial seat polled more than fifty thousand votes in one of the third parties a record which no one has broken in the whole state.
Giving somebody like ODB the opportunity to contest will ultimately make the contest a walk over for the progressives and make the desirable aftermath achievable.
