Ondo CJ to swear in Lucky Aiyedatiwa after Akeredolu’s demise

The Ondo State Chief Judge is set to swear in the acting governor of the state, Lucky Aiyedatiwa as the 1999 constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria provides.

The death of Rotimi Akeredolu, who had been incapacitated for months, paved the way for the deputy governor to take over the affairs of the state.

Online Parrot News reports that Akeredolu succumbed to leukemia, a disease of the blood on Wednesday. He died in Lagos, where he had been receiving treatment in an undisclosed hospital.

Ondo State will be swearing in Lucky Aiyedatiwa as governor in Akure today. The swearing-in is slated to be held at the Cocoa Conference Hall in Akure. However, no time has been fixed yet for the event,” a top government source revealed to SaharaReporters.
