The Oluwo of Iwo, Oba Abdulrasheed Akanbi, Telu 1, has begged Osun State governor Adegboyega Oyetola for a whooping sum of twenty million naira.
The top traditional ruler made the demand for money over the proposed wedding ceremony between him and a princess from Kano State.
The king wrote a letter to the governor to make that appeal for money. As contained in the letter, Oba Akanbi wants to marry from the Ado Bayero dynasty.
The letter to the Osun State governor also included the fact that the ceremony of the two big families will gulp so much money.
The later dated 8 February, 2022 said that the wedding will cost twenty million naira and that the king looks up to the governor for help.
Osun State is one of the most impoverished states in the federation. It almost totally relies on allocation for funds from the federal government.
Meanwhile, there is an election in the state this year. And at this time the top monarch is demanding for so much an amount of money.
