Okpebholo Continues to Hunt Ex Governor Obaseki
Incumbent Edo State Governor Monday Okpebholo has continued to run after his predecessor, Godwin Obaseki, claiming that he is ready to take back the government properties including vehicles that the ex governor and his aides carted away while leaving the office.
The new governor has alleged that Obaseki took properties of the government with him and that all of them would be taken back. Okpebholo immediately set up a powerful committee to do the work on behalf of his government.
On Thursday, the committee came up with some success revealing that a number of vehicles from the former government. Mr. Fred Itua, the Chief Press Secretary to Okpebholo said that the Committee led by Kelly Okungbowa has recorded success.
“The committee had successfully recovered three vehicles last Friday, including one Hilux van and two Toyota Hiace buses.
Meanwhile, Okungbowa confirmed that four more vehicles were retrieved from the residence of a former senior official, while another vehicle was recovered from a separate individual.
“We have recovered two Land Cruiser Jeeps and two Toyota Hilux vehicles from a former high-ranking official of the immediate past government. One of the vehicles contained campaign posters and umbrellas.
“Another Hilux vehicle was also recovered, bringing the total number of vehicles retrieved since our operation began to 30.”
“We appeal to the public for more information to aid our operations. Whistleblowers have been instrumental to our success, and we are committed to rewarding anyone who provides helpful tips.”
