Obidient Movement and Folly of Calling Peter Obi their president

Members of the Obidient Movement and followers of Peter Obi are yet to wake up to the reality. Before the tribunal delivered the judgement, their hope was high. They also deployed their now useless mechanism: intimidation.

They intimidated any opponent or dissent on the social media till Nigerians went to the ballot. All their efforts proved no fruit. Their candidate, and source of inspiration, Peter Obi, came far third in the race for the Presidential Villa, Aso Rock.

The obidient movement thought that the court would rely on emotions to deliver its verdict. They came up with a slogan, “all eyes on judiciary”, they campaigned rigorously using the media. They even fabricated news that ex Lagos State governor Babatunde Raji Fashola wrote the judgement.

The most annoying part of the whole saga is that they have audacity to refer Peter Obi as their president. That’s the peak of the obidient movement folly. One wonders how informed ones like Aisha Yesufu couldn’t let reasoning and logics determine what they do or say.

The endsars activist, Yesufu, talked to the Channels Television that Tinubu is never her president. She actually said what several thousands of members of obidient movement have in mind. They consider the second runnerup as their president.

There can’t be more than one president in a country. That’s what they have all failed to realize. A renowed writer, Prof. Wole Soyinka called them “nattering nitwits”.

The Labour candidate himself has never called himself the president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. He knows that he will be commiting a very serious crime if he goes that way. Why are his obidient movement followers insisting that he’s their president?

Probably, Peter Obi himself has it at the back of his mind that he is the president. Then, it requires urgent actions. Aisha Yesufu of all people should have woken up that they are chasing a bird that had flown away.

Still calling Peter Obi after the judgement of the tribunal may be criminal at the end of the day. The obidient movement should know that it’s still fighting a lost battle. The ex Anambra State governor is far from becoming the president of the country.
