Obasanjo Snubs Tinubu’s Council Meeting, Buhari, Jonathan Attend

A former president Olusegun Obasanjo has snubbed a meeting that President Bola Tinubu called to discuss the affairs and matters of the country as his administration is still grappling with the aftermaths of the #EndBadGovernance protests across the country.

As the protests were losing their momentum, the former president launched serious and mostly destructive criticism of the incumbent president saying that most of the people in the cabinet were supposed to be in the prison.

Presidents Muhammadu Buhari and Goodluck Jonathan in attendance, with Yakubu Gowon and Abdulsalami Abubakar participating virtually.

The State Council is an advisory body and its members comprise the Vice President, Senate President, and other top officials including the Attorney General of the Federation.

The statement had read, “President Bola Tinubu Summons Council of State Gowon, IBB, Abdusalami, Obasanjo, Jonathan, Buhari Others for a meeting today.

“The Council of State consists of the following persons: the President, who is the Chairman; Vice-President, who is the Deputy Chairman; all former Presidents of the Federation and all former Heads of the Government of the Federation.

“All former Chief Justices of Nigeria; President of the Senate; Speaker of the House of Representatives; all the Governors of the states of the Federation; the minister of Justice and Attorney General of the Federation.”
