Ex President Obasanjo embarrasses Yoruba monarchs in Oyo
Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has appeared in yet another controversy. The ex president (1999 – 2007) has courted so many controversies in the last years.
This time around the ex president openly embarrassed the Yoruba monarchs.
The former head of the country was in Oyo State to open some projects that the administration of Governor Seyi Makinde executed.
While addressing the crowd, he said he greeted the traditional rulers so had their seats in one of the canopies. He appreciated them for coming for the event.
The Oyo State governor had invited the ex president Obasanjo and the Yoruba monarchs from the Oke Ogun axis for the event.
But as he was talking to them, he yelled and roared asking the traditional leaders to be on their feet. The ex president said that they were supposed to stand up for governors and president.
He said the traditional rulers must show respect to the governor and the president. And he ordered them, “stand up!”
The embarrassed Yoruba monarchs had to be on their feet while the crowd cheered.
