Nigerians Blast Tinubu Over Old National Anthem
Nigerians have reacted to the return to the old national anthem of the country. Bola Tinubu has decided to use the occasion of the first anniversary of his government to reintroduce the abandoned anthem.
Online Parrot News reported that the president assented the bill while addressing the joint session of the National Assembly on Wednesday. Nigerians have reacted with mixed feelings.
While some users of social media said that Tinubu has been able to come up with a major reform commending him that he was brave enough to do what his predecessors were unable to do, several others have blasted the president for it being emotionally attached to the plights of the people of the country.
They said that the president left several urgent and more serious matters to attend to less important ones at a time the people of the country are battling hyperinflation, hardship and struggling to make their businesses grow.
Nigerians were expecting the president to showcase his achievements in the last one year and inform the people what he plans to do for the people of the country.
A user, Patriotic Udonya said, “Instead to carry us go forward na them dey backward us. A town hall different from bala Blu”.
Samuel Ogunmola, a follower of the Online Parrot News added, “What has that one need to do with numerous challenges Nigerian are battlleing with now Yeye people Yeye government”.
Jenny Okon also gave her opinion by asking for the much delayed minimum wage. She asked, “Where is the living wage you promised?”
