Manchester United would be at home tonight and host Burnley in another crucial encounter that the Manchester club needs to win. Three players are supposed to be benched as a matter of fact.
Manchester United travelled to play against Newcastle United last Monday. Edison Cavani had to come in from bench so as to get a point for the visitors. Then, rather than substituting for Cavani, he should simply start the match.
There is no need to start Mason Greenwood. He is actually a spectacular player in front of goals. But one thing about him is that he hardly considers other players when opportunity knocks in the opponent’s box. He should be on the bench.
Likewise, there is no need to start Harry Maguire, who is so sloppy at the defence. Maguire gave some flimsy excuses after the encounter against Newcastle United. He said that the sixteen day break made their performance to be poor. He also blamed the ravaging COVID-19 pandemic.
But the fact is Maguire is not a good player that Manchester United needs to rely upon as far as its defence is concerned. Eric Baily should be allowed to start in Maguire’s place.
Rashford is such a wonderful player. But lack of constituency disrupts his stats this season. Since he returned from injury, he has not been fantastic. He needs to come from the bench if at all he will be allowed to play.
Coach Ralf Rangnick needs to start Jadon Sancho, Edison Cavani and Eric Baily when Manchester United faces Burnley tonight.
