Minister of Power Adelabu Sets to Return to APC
The minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu, is set to return to the All Progressives Congress (APC). He has made his intent to go back to the political party in a letter he wrote and addressed to the APC chairman in Oyo State.
Adelabu was the candidate of the political party in the 2019 gubernatorial election in Oyo State. He lost to the incumbent Governor Seyi Makinde of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
He made an attempt to represent the APC for the same election in 2023 but he lost the ticket to the flag bearer of the APC, Teslim Folarin. That prompted him to leave the party for Accord, under whose platforms he contested and lost the poll for the second time in a row.
The minister, who escaped from an aircraft crash last month, said that he would like the state executive of the APC coordinates his return to the party on 15 December.
Adelabu also demanded that all the local government chairmen of the political party be present for the ceremony. He indicated the main reason for his return to the party. He said he wanted to work towards the 2027 gubernatorial election in the state.
