Man United’s Anthony Replies to Accusations
Manchester United’s winger Anthony has replied formally to an accusation that he engaged in domestic violence against his ex girlfriend Gabriela Cavallin.
Anthony, a Brazilian, will be the second Manchester United player to face law over domestic violence. The Englishman Mason Greenwood, though recently exonerated, faced the law over an allegation bordering on his girlfriend as well.
Gabriela had told prosecutors in Brazil that the winger, who joined Manchester United from Ajax, hit her, threw a glass at her and even threatened to kill her.
Anthony has replied by defending himself and stating clearly that he didn’t commit the offense. He has been sidelined from the Brazilian squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
He said, “I do not support violence against women ever. It’s totally wrong, 100 per cent wrong. I have a mother, a sister, and I would never want this to happen to them”.
“Hitting a woman is something that doesn’t cross my mind. I know the truth will come out and it will show up. I know there are a lot of people butchering me, but the truth comes out”.
Anthony said that his exclusion hit him hard. He explained that he felt bad because the accusation “wasn’t true”.
He concluded, “I never touched that girl. I’m never going to headbutt a person. I’m 100% sure I’ve never touched a woman. And I’ll come up with the evidence. People will see the truth. I’m sure I’ve never committed physical violence”.
