The organised labour has shut down the National Assembly Complex. The Nigeria Labour Congress and its sister union Trade Union Congress have embarked on an indefinite strike.
The labour unions called the strike to protest the assault suffered by the NLC president Joe Ajaero when he went to show solidarity with the Imo State workers in Owerri few weeks ago.
Ajaero accused the Imo State Governor Hope Uzodinma and the police of masterminding the attack on him. He suffered some injuries to his eyes and he had to wear a cervical brace.
The workers shut down the gates leading to the complex on Wednesday although they allowed a partial operation in the complex on Tuesday.
The labour unions have asked all workers across the country to stay back at home. Several unions have joined the strike, hence paralysing activities in the country.
