Kaduna Pupils Abduction: Tinubu Not Ready To Negotiate or Pay Ransom

The presidency has stated that it’s not ready to pay any ransom to secure release of the abducted pupils of a primary school in Kaduna State just as a top Islamic cleric Sheik Ahmad Gumi said he was ready to be an intermediary between the government and the abductors.

Kidnappers struck and abducted over 280 pupils and teachers of Government Secondary School and LEA Primary School at Kuriga, Kaduna State, kidnaped on March 7. The abduction was similar to the one that happened in Chibok Local Government Area of Borno State when Goodluck Jonathan was in power.

“Mr. President reiterated his zero tolerance for the payment of ransom…and Mr President has also directed that no ransom will be paid by the government to any of these criminal elements.”

The Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris addressed the state house correspondents after the weekly Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting.

Idris added that the security personnel are working round the clock to secure the release of the students.
