Kaduna bombing: Northern Muslims and Elders are Hypocrites
The leaders and in fact the Muslims in northern region are hypocrites. They pretend to see nothing when a disaster is happening to people of other faith in the region or if it happens to them when one of their own is in power.
They have clearly set their agenda: which is to protect the rights and interests of their faith as far as the region is concerned whether it’s safe or not. Southern Kaduna, Benue, Taraba, Plateau, which are dominated by Christians has suffered a lot, one will hardly hear the northern elders and Muslims raise their voices.
Nigerian Army has apologized for the errors it made when it unintentionally dropped bombs on civilians in Tudun Biri community in Igabi Local Government Area of Kaduna State. Online Parrot News has given details of the unfortunate incident and the death toll.
Meanwhile, there have been some other instances of insecurity in the region: Zamfara State is still at the mercy of bandits; Katsina isn’t totally safe for its residents, several parts of Niger State are under armed men, farmers and herdsmen are slugging it out in Benue and Plateau.
While all those ones are going on, the northern elders and Muslims are quiet feigning ignorance while the criminals are killing, stealing, destroying, maiming and kidnapping people for ransom.
The Nigerian Army took a decisive step to neutralize the criminals, but an error occurred: it struck civilians instead. There is no doubt that the military did its due intelligence before the operation. It’s not unusual for bandits to mingle with civilians. That’s why it’s has been difficult for the security personnel to end them.
Northern elders and Muslims are aware of that. They wouldn’t use their sermons on Fridays to campaign against banditry, terrorism and kidnapping. Rather they would target the Chief of Army Staff Lieutenant General Taoreed Lagbaja and his boss, the Chief of Defence Staff Christopher Musa.
In fact, they have even called for the head of President Bola Tinubu just because he’s not from northern region. You aren’t a good and devout Muslim if you are from the southern axis. When Muhammadu Buhari was in power, what roles did the elders and faithful play?
The military didn’t just start to make the intelligence errors. What did the Muslims and Elders do when the Internally Displaced People’s camp was bombed in Borno State? That was when former president Muhammadu Buhari was in power. They were rather quiet.
Their problem isn’t about the bombing of civilians in Tudun Biri. They aren’t just comfortable with the fact that two southerners occupy the seat of the president and Chief of Army Staff. Likewise they are sad that a northern Christian is the Chief of Defence Staff. And that’s hypocritical.
