The immediate past Kaduna State governor Mallam Nasir El-Rufai has hit out at his critics saying that he would never pretend while in government because governance is not Nollywood, apparently referring to Nigerian film industry.
The former governor, who had also served as the FCT minister in the past, has become more embittered in recent time. His bid to be in the cabinet of President Bola Tinubu was frustrated when the Senate said that it received some indicting reports on El-Rufai.

Since that time, El-Rufai has become more critical of Tinubu though he initially started with cryptic messages, comments on his social media accounts. He has stepped up his criticism by using plain terms.
On Saturday an X (formerly known as Twitter) talked about sincerity of the former governor. He said he was motivated by the widely circulated “Accidental Public Servant” written by El-Rufai.
The user said he concluded that no political leader would want the former governor as part of the cabinet unless such a leader wants to really develop the country.
“The day I read El-Rufai’s book titled Accidental Public Servant, I concluded that no politician would want @elrufai in their cabinet unless they genuinely intend to develop this country. He doesn’t know how to pretend,” the user wrote.
Mallam El-Rufai replied by thanking the user and added that he didn’t know how to pretend.
“Thanks for your kind words, @irahabib. Truly, I don’t know how to pretend. Being a Nollywood actor in governance is for some others, not some of us. Have a nice day. – @elrufai”
