How Tinubu is fixing Yoruba into key & top posts
The President, Bola Tinubu said that he would use the style of leadership of his predecessor, Muhammadu Buhari. The immediate past leader of the country zeas guilty of nepotism and favouritism.
When Tinubu started his campaign, he made it clear in Ogun State that it’s the turn of the Yoruba people, ad invariably it’s his own turn as well. And since he took power from Buhari, nepotism has become a part of his government.
He has so far appointed Yoruba people into key positions in economy and security. He appointed Mr. Wale Edun as the Minister of Finance. Analysts predicted that Edun would pick up the job when the list of minister nominees first came out.
The president didn’t stop at that. He seems to be ready to fix only people from his race as members of the economy team. Mr. Zaccheus (Zach) Adedeji, has got his own appointment as the chairman and head of the Federal Inland Revenue Services (FIRS).
The accountant general of the country now is also a Yoruba person. Mrs. Oluwatoyin Sakirat Madein is another Yoruba in the team. The head of service Mrs. Folasade Yemi-Esan got her own appointment while Buhari was in power.
The minister of blue economy, Mr. Adegboyega Oyetola was the immediate past governor of Osun State. He will be in charge of the blue economy and control top agencies and Commissions of the country.
In the area of security, President Bola Tinubu has built a fortress around himself. The president appointed Mr. Taoreed Lagbaja, an indigene of Osun State as well as the Chief of Army staff.
The acting inspector general of police, Mr. Kayode Egbetokun, is a Yoruba man as well as the comptroller general of the immigration and custom service.
