How Gbajabiamila is outsmarting Bola Tinubu

The Chief of Staff to the President, Mr. Femi Gbajabiamila is facing a serious hurdle just few months into his appointment as one of the most powerful persons in the cabinet of the president, Bola Tinubu.

The loyalists of the president have asked the head of the country to sack the ex speaker of the House of Representatives. Gbajabiamila worked seriously for the success of the president in the election, and his appointment didn’t come as a surprise.

But the former Speaker appears to have stepped on some toes, who now call for his removal. They alleged that he’s taking bribes so as to give out appointments. There is no doubt that the Chief of Staff determines most of what the president does and he gives room to have a talk with his boss.

The Tinubu’s loyalists who have called for Femi Gbajabiamila’s sacking explained that the ex speaker sells appointments to the highest bidders.

Sahara Reporters reports that the Chief of Staff is replacing names of appointees who have been penned down by the president with his own.

The newspaper reports, “The REC from Ekiti that he (Gbajabiamila) put there, the man was Fayemi’s former commissioner, that was not the person Asiwaju signed off on. The person Asiwaju signed off on was one Toyin (Mrs Oluwatoyin Babalola), the former Legal Adviser of INEC.

“But when the announcement was made, two members of the President’s cabinet met with him too complain that the person they nominated had been changed with another person.”

The president has got wind of the hanky-panky of his chief of staff, Gbajabiamila. The newspaper said that Bola Tinubu was annoyed when he heard about the shady deals of the former speaker.

The report says, The President was infuriated, he said he checked the name of the woman before he signed the list.

“He summoned his CoS, but when he arrived, he was stuttering. The President asked him to bring the list he signed.

“The President said so, what he has been hearing is true that whenever he signs something, it will be changed. The President gave three instances, that he signed for something and was changed. He felt bad and gave him the last warning. He directed that the woman’s name must be on the list.”

Bola Tinubu has reacted through the media aide Ajuri Ngalele. He explained that he has confidence in his chief of staff Gbajabiamila. He has also dismissed the call for removal of the Chief of Staff.
