How bandits reply after FG called them terrorists

0

About two hundred people were massacred in some villages and towns in Zamfara State few days ago. Within three days after bandits were declared terrorists, they struck.

They ravaged the villages and left close to 200 people dead. Properties including households and other valuables were irredeemably destroyed. There was a fear that bandits from Sokoto perpetrated the heinous act.

The president has expressed shock and his condolences to the families of the victims of the attack. He also talked about the determination of his government to crush bandits.

He talked through his special assistant on media and publicity, Garba Shehu. Part of the statement read, “These criminals will be history because we are not going to relent in our current military operations to get rid of these thugs who have been terrorising innocent people.”

The president further said, “We are fiercely determined to smoke out and destroy these outlaws who have no regard for sanctity of life”.

The scale of the bandits’ operation was far below this magnitude. Truly, they constantly kill people, kidnap more and rob the people of their properties. Yet they haven’t killed as many as 200 in an operation.

Barely two days after they were tagged as terrorists, they killed hundreds. This is typical to the style of the Boko Haram insurgents. Could it mean they are now fully operating like Boko Haram.

Hence, from this particular indication, the bandits in the northwest have replied the federal government. And a battle line must have been drawn.
