Hezbollah Launches Barrage of Missiles on Israel
Lebanese Hezbollah has launched a barrage of missiles on Israel as fear of escalation of the war in Gaza rises. The Iranian-backed group said they it carried out the attack to avenge the killing of its commander Faud Shukr.
Hezbollah has been fighting on behalf of the Palestinan Hamas since 7 October when the Palestinian group, which is based in Gaza, attacked southern Israel killing no fewer than 1,000 people mostly civilians.
Israel invaded Gaza immediately claiming that it wants to root out the group. But most of the victims of Israel’s retaliation are civilians as their facilities are also seriously affected.
The Lebanese group said it hit 11 targets with 325 katyusha missiles. Hezbollah said it was the first phase of its retaliation. The group said that the full revenge would take some time.
