The immediate past vice president Yemi Osinbajo is still a member of the All Progressives Congress and he would attend caucus meetings in as much as he is invited to do so. His media aide Laolu Akande made this known in an interview he granted.
Professor Osinbajo has been quiet and obviously enjoying his peace since he left power along with his principal Muhammadu Buhari. He made a failed attempt to take over the affairs of the country.
And since the primary election of the APC, in which he was a candidate, he has been quiet and snubbed the political party. Supporters of President Bola Tinubu considered Osinbajo as a betrayer. They argued that the professor of law shouldn’t have contested against his benefactor, Tinubu, who nominated him to run along with Buhari in 2015.
In the interview, Akande was asked about Osinbajo. He said that there is no reason to believe or think that the former vice president is no longer in the APC.
“I don’t want to get the man (Osinbajo) involved in my own commentary, but there is no reason to think that he is no longer in the APC. He is still a member of the APC.
“If he gets an invitation to the caucus, you know, he will be there. I don’t think he has left the party,” Akande said.
