Twitter owner and Chief Executive Officer Elon Musk has decided to further curb Twitter. Users will now have limited tweets to read per day.
Musk has made several changes to the microblog since he acquired it last year in a deal that he initially wanted to back out from. He has introduced a mandatory payment for the blue tick for verified users of the app.
In his latest change, verified users will be able to read just 10,000 while unverified users will read 1,000. He initially set the limit to 6,000 and 600 tweets respectively before increasing the limit.
He gave a reason for his unprecedented decision, which has shocked millions of users of the app. Musk said he wanted to discourage or stop the extreme levels of data scrapping and system manipulation. He didn’t provide details.
