The Record Peter Obi Looks Forward To Break

The presidential candidate of the Labour Party in the 2023 presidential election, Mr. Peter Obi looks forward to make one particular history or to break a jinx. The ex Anambra State Governor has become more prominent in the political terrain of Nigeria in the past one year.

He wants to become the first candidate or the first politician to unseat a president through the court. No president of the country has ever lost at the election petition tribunal.

Mr. Muhammadu Buhari made several attempts against the late Musa Yar’adua, and Goodluck Jonathan. He dragged them individually to court to challenge their victory in the presidential election. He lost woefully although he went on to rule Nigeria for eight years.

Atiku Abubakar, who is also attempting to beat Bola Tinubu in the court, did all he could to unseat Muhammadu Buhari after the 2019 presidential election. He lost as the court affirmed that Buhari truly and validly won the election.

Peter Obi enjoyed massive supports from his kinsmen in the southeastern Nigeria, he also got his popularity from youths, who are understandably frustrated about the situations in the country. He came third, but he believes that the INEC didn’t follow due processes in the exercise.

The court has fixed Wednesday, 6 September for the verdict. Mr. Peter Obi, the candidate of the Labour Party expects the court to upturn the results as declared by the electoral body and order the same body to issue the certificate of return to him.
