Immediate past Kaduna State governor Nasir El-Rufai has denied a rumour making the rounds that he had dumped the All Progressives Congress for the Peoples Democratic Party.
The former governor is still bitter over what transpired in his bid to be a member of the President Bola Tinubu’s cabinet. He was nominated by the president only for the National Assembly to reject him on the ground that there were petitions against him.
El-Rufai, a former Federal Capital Territory minister, has been making moves that point at the 2027 general elections. He has not announced his plan, but tabloid reported that he had joined the PDP.
In his reaction on X, formerly known as Twitter, El-Rufai made it clear that people should disregard the rumours about his political affiliation (party). He said that he had asked his lawyer to take further actions against the paddlers.
“Please disregard the patent lies and rumours about my political affiliation. I have referred the lead peddlers of the fake news for further action by my lawyers,” he wrote on Sunday.
