A human rights lawyer and former chairman of of the National Human Rights Commission Prof. Chidi Odinkalu has admonished former president Muhammadu Buhari to stop lying about the sources of his wealth.
The human rights activist also said that the ex leader of the country is no longer running for any officer in the federation and therefore doesn’t have to lie about what he has.
Buhari had in a gathering of the All Progressives Congress in Katsina State announced that he didn’t corrupt himself while in government and that he has three houses of which he is collecting rents to sustain himself.
The former president had said, “After my eight years as a civil president, I have only three houses; one in Daura and two in Kaduna. I have given one out for renting where I get money for feeding.”
But the human rights lawyer didn’t take it easy with Buhari in a post on X. He said that the former president shouldn’t lie about his earthly acquisition.
Odinkalu said, “Someone should please tell Muhammadu Buhari that he is no longer running for the office of Messiah, therefore, no longer has any need to keep lying about his earthly acquisitions.”
