Buhari fails Tinubu in Katsina State
The president, Muhammadu Buhari has failed to win his state, Katsina for the candidate of his party, the All Progressives Congress (APC). Alhaji Atiku Abubakar has won the state though narrowly.
The Independent National Electoral Commission is still collating results from the 36 states of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory.
President Muhammadu Buhari even displayed his ballot paper to other voters in Daura on Saturday just to further anoint Bola Tinubu.
However, otherwise is the case as Atiku Abubakar grabbed the state from the All Progressives Congress. The party won Katsina State in the last two general elections. And Tinubu looked forward to win the state.
However, Buhari fails Tinubu totally. Of course, the president won his unit for the APC candidate, but that is not enough. Tinubu needs the overwhelming support Buhari enjoyed so as to stop Alhaji Atiku Abubakar.
The ex vice president scored 489,045 votes to beat Bola Tinubu, who was close with 482,283 votes. Peter Obi came third with slightly above 6,000 votes. Rabiu Kwankwaso polled 69,386 votes.
