Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed has launched his bid to take over from President Bola Tinubu in 2027 with his vituperation against the current administration according to the Foreign Affairs minister Yusuf Tuggar.

The minister said that the PDP governor has used criticisms notably against the tax reform to start his own ambition to lead the country.
Mohammed has been actively condemning the president saying that the northern region would not be able to pay salaries and construct projects. He made the statement during the last Christian festival when he was hosting some Christian leaders. He said that the president was calling for anarchy with the reform.
He later denied the comments and that he was misinterpreted. Nevertheless, the presidency ensured he was duly replied and silenced.
The foreign minister said that Bala Mohammed doesn’t have sincerity of purpose.
“Governor Bala Mohammed showed clearly that he does not have any sincerity of purpose,” Tugar said on a Channels Television programme.
“It is not that other governors did not try to interrogate the tax bill when it was presented which is a good thing as a matter of fact so that Nigerians get the best out of the bill, but what Bala Mohammed proceeded to do was to use it as a platform to launch his presidential campaign very early in the day.
“He was the most severe in his invectives towards the president, towards the administration with his vituperations (sic) towards the president and the administration.”
